Hi!

My name is Johnny. I’m an amateur-model on PornHub and data-analyst IRL. In order to do my job well I monitor the market my colleagues and regularly conduct small data studies. In this article I want to share one of the latest.

This research is an overview and is designed to help models better understand the Modelhub platform and trends among colleagues in the genre on this platform. The data used in this study is public, freely available and doesn’t contain personal data of anyone.

The study period covers one month — December 2020.

The objects of research are three categories on the Modelhub site: Gay, Verified couples and Verified models.

Number of uploaded videos in December by category:

Gay: > 4700 (-1.08%)
Verified couples: > 6100 (-22.47%)
Verified models: > 3100 (-36.32%)

We see a decrease in all categories. This is especially evident in the category of professional models. The decrease in the number of downloads begins immediately after December 10. Most likely, this is due to the sad news about the agreements between Pornhub, MasterCard and Visa.

Wow! see how the number of views increased compared to the previous month. I wonder if this could be a consequence of removing the content of most of the non-verified creators?

Average number of published videos per model by category:
Gay: 3.4
Verified couples: 3.1
Verified models: 5.07

Amateur models upload 3–5 videos per month (one — two videos per week) on average.

TOP-20 models by the number of uploaded videos:

The % videos column shows the percentage of the total number of videos in this category for this period. For Verified models tommy wood is the most productive. it uploaded ~6% of all videos in the category.

TOP-20 models by total number of views:

Comparing this table with the table above we can conclude that it is better to make high-quality videos than to rely on quantity.

TOP-20 countries by number of uploaded content:

The US is leading in all categories. The % videos column shows the percentage of the total number of videos in this category for this period.

Several conclusions:
1. December was a pretty good month for verified creators, despite the shutdown of payments via Visa and Mastercard.

2. Video quality is valued above quantity.

3. You can see the seasonality in the video titles (did you notice the popularity of the word christmas?)
