Hi!

My name is Johnny. I’m an amateur-model on PornHub and data-analyst IRL. In order to do my job well I monitor the market my colleagues and regularly conduct small data studies.

This research is an overview and is designed to help models better understand the Modelhub platform and trends among colleagues in the genre on this platform. The data used in this study is public, freely available and doesn’t contain personal data of anyone.

The study period covers one month — January 2021.

The objects of research are three categories on the Modelhub site: Gay, Verified couples and Verified models.

Number of uploaded videos in January by category:

Gay: > 6700 (+42.75%)
Verified couples: > 8000(+31.10%)
Verified models: > 4100 (+29.40%)

We see a good increase in the number of uploaded videos compared to the previous month. The reason may be in the news from January 8, in which it was said, quote: “we will be removing Model videos from Premium as we are currently unable to process payments for Viewshare earnings.”
However, in the charts below, we can see that the number of videos uploaded per day fell in the second half of the month.

Number of unique models:

Gay: over 1300 (-0.36%)

Verified models: over 450 (-21.18%)

So. We see an increase in the number of views only in the Gay category. It’s nice to see that we haven’t reached the ”ceiling“ yet. As for the number of models, there were minor changes in two of the three categories, in contrast to the category of Professional models. There we see a decrease of as much as 21%

Average number of published videos per model by category:
Gay: 4.89
Verified couples: 4.34
Verified models: 8.32

TOP-20 models by the number of uploaded videos:

The % videos column shows the percentage of the total number of videos in this category for this period. For Verified models katty_annxo is the most productive. it uploaded ~12% of all videos in the category.

TOP-20 models by total number of views:

Comparing this table with the table above we can conclude that it is better to make high-quality videos than to rely on quantity.

TOP-20 countries by number of uploaded content:

The US is leading in all categories. The % videos column shows the percentage of the total number of videos in this category for this period.

This report is made in just three categories out of a set. Starting this month, I will try to provide information for comparison with the general figures for the Verified Amateurs category.
Total number of videos uploaded by Verified Amateurs in February: > 71K
Total number of views of these videos: 502.8M
The total number of unique models who uploaded their videos: > 10K

A few conclusions:
1. The year began very interestingly. The category of Gays has added well in the number of views and the number of videos, while losing quite a bit in the number of models.

2. There are some permutations in the TOP 20 creators and new faces. Was it just my imagination, or did the Japanese channels get stronger?
